Better than Repair |2010|
collaboration with Tomasz Opania
This performance took place at the Third Underwater Wroclaw Festival – an Art review (Podwodny Wrocław 2010), at an exhibition called: The Waves of Art (Fale Sztuki) Between Place and Time. The title of this exhibition can be understood in a broad context, which includes the ambiguity of word “wave” as a wave of generation, transformation, energy, or creative ideas. It was a link between two generations of artists taking part in a project who were asked to find a common ground for artistic research in one place as well as make an experiment using different media. Our project was a visual operation between different levels of space and time. A head pasted to another body is like an aesthetic division, the beginning of visual schizophrenia. The donor and the broadcaster merged Into one creature. What the spectators can see Is the body and the transfer of the image. The process between possession and dedication, simulation and stimulation. A head liberated from the constraints of it’s own body becomes an independent image, a virtual medium that directs the actual body. Pixels and atoms form a visual collage in the name of a hybrid being. Our freedom between fiction and reality.
